I need to find the inrush current of the blower motor connected to the UPS which will overload and sound the alarm on startup. Usually I swear off only Fluke clamp meters, but don't want to spend nearly $400 on something I rarely use. Was going to buy another brand that advertises more, but after searching for the GVDA number GD169A Inrush clamp meter, I found this unit. It's identical except for the brand name, and it's a lot cheaper. So far it works well and seems accurate. Personally, I wouldn't use it to measure 480VAC or other high voltages, but for the specific purpose I bought it for, it looks great.
